Presentation

The Psychology major proposes developing psychological knowledge and training psychologists qualified to work in the labor market. Students are invited to excellence in education, exploration of research areas and creation of actions related to the community demands. The major has three different approaches: Psychology and Public Policies – training towards the definition and management of public policies and social programs; Psychology and Clinical Processes – training in mental health investigation and intervention; and Psychology and Production of Scientific Knowledge – participation in scientific research.

Labor market

The psychologist has several possibilities of working in contexts such as education, business, health, clinics and community. Their activities can range from psychotherapies, diagnostic evaluations, interventions oriented to inclusion or rehabilitation, actions towards training, selection and improvement of team performance, interventions specialized in specific situations, etc. Such diversity enhances the perspective of creation of different working areas, considering the professional contact with community needs.
